Asa, the Customizable 8-Well Bead Dispenser for Tubes

This 8-well bead dispenser can be fully customized to dispense any number and size of beads into eight tubes or a column of a 96-well plate. An enormous cost- and timesaver! It’s compatible with any kind of tubes, like screw-cap tubes, flip-cap tubes, etc. It features built-in funnels that make it easy to pour beads into the dispenser and back into the storage container.

Customization Options (Please enter the values in the text box at the top of the page):

• Bead size (max. 8 mm). If the bead size in batch varies (e.g. Roth glass beads) please calculate with the largest beads in the batch.
• Number of beads

OR the size of the cavity by volume:

• Volume in mm³ or µl.
• Optional: preferred dimensions (diameter and/or height) of the dispenser cavity.

How to Operate the Bead Dispenser for 8 Wells or Tubes:

1. Close the dispenser using the provided large and small closing plates.
2. Fill the dispenser with an excess of beads.
3. Ensure that each hole contains bead(s).
4. Remove the small closing plate and transfer any surplus beads back into the storage container.
5. Using the integrated dispensing funnels, align the dispenser to the tubes.
6. Open the large closing plate to initiate the dispensing process.
7. Enjoy the sound of dropping beads.

All steps are shown in the video (showing the dispensing of 5 beads of 3 mm)!

Tip: If you want to fill less than eight wells simply cover (with adhesive tape) the wells of the 8-well-dispenser that should not be filled with beads.

• 1 large closing plate
• 1 small closing plate

Technical Note:

• This dispenser is only with a 96 tube rack as shown on the pictures (also available here).
• The bead dispenser is 3D printed with SLA technology with very high accuracy and surface quality. White, durable material.
• The closing plate is made of POM by laser-cutting.
• This bead dispensing system is not fully ethanol resistant. If surface sterilization is needed, please use short UV exposure or bleach.
